Remote Tide and Meteorological Monitoring Stations

These stations can be installed in remote locations to monitor water level measurements and record meteorological information.  Typically they are integrated with sensors such as current meters, acoustic sensors, radar sensors and remote Automatic Weather Stations (AWS).

Data can be stored to an internal memory, according to a data logging schedule, which can be downloaded during maintenance visits to the site.  Alternatively, a communication link such as a radio modem can be installed which allows for real time monitoring at remote locations.

These stations are typically mounted in an environment enclosure which also contains a battery and a radio modem.  An external solar panel charges the battery during the day.  Connections to the solar panel, antenna and sensors pass through glands in the environmental enclosure.

AMS has extensive experience installing these stations for data acquisition and distribution.
