Mobilis Buoys

Offshore & Port Beaconing

Mobilis' navigation buoys are available as lateral, cardinal, special mark and marker buoys, from 1.85m diameter to 3.0m, focal plane heights to 6m and with a variety of keel designs these are extremely flexible buoys for demanding applications.

The JET 9000, with its 3.0 metre diameter hull providing up to 9000kg of buoyancy, is the largest in the JET series of navigation buoys and is suitable for use in offshore and deep water locations where a large highly visible navigation buoy is required.

The JET 7000 is the second largest buoy in the JET series of buoys with a 2.6 metre diameter hull providing up to 7000kg of buoyancy. It is suitable for use in offshore, deepwater and large river locations where a highly visible navigation buoy is required.

The JET 5000 is the third largest buoy in the JET series of buoys with a 2.4 metre diameter hull providing 5000kg of buoyancy. It is suitable for use in offshore, deepwater and large river locations where a highly visible navigation buoy is required.

The JET2500 is a medium size buoy in the JET series, suitable for use in nearshore locations where a highly visible navigation buoy is required. It’s 1.85 metre diameter hull provides 2500kg of buoyancy.

River Beaconing

The Model 1200 is designed to be simple to deploy, and have extremely low maintenance. It is ideally suited to the Carmanah range of self contained solar powered lights. Available with three different keel arrangements, and a variety of day marks, this is a modular buoy for many applications.

The Module 1200 is a low cost, lightweight, multi purpose small buoy with a 1.20 metre diameter hull and a focal height of 1.5 to 2.0m.  It offers a robust construction with two self coloured medium density polyethylene (MDPE) floats bolted together through a central flat steel keel plate. Daymarks are also manufactured from MDPE and are bolted to the top face of the hull floats

The BC1241 AND 1242 are medium buoyancy tail tube units with 1.24 metre diameter hull. Generally used on nearshore applications where high visibility is a major requirement. The high focal height for a small diameter buoy is achieved with the utilisation of a short tail tube assembly and adjustable ballast weights providing excellent anti heel characteristics which helps to keep the buoy upright in severe weather conditions.

The FB 1240 is a medium sized buoy with a patented flat steel bottom. This design is extremely robust and creates low resistance to currents, ideal for strong tidal flows. Units have a 1.25 metre diameter hull providing 600 or 900kg of buoyancy. The flat bottom construction assists the buoy to stay upright on low tide conditions, protects the PE hull assembly should the buoy take the ground and provides a stable focal plane in shallow waters where there is little mooring weight.

Trackless

The Trackless unit is a low cost, streamlined platform designed to minimise the heeling problems associated with strong tidal flow. The carefully designed combination of hull and rudder plate attains superior stability and six times less drag than a conventional buoy of similar size. The 0.9m wide and 2m long hull will accept the same day and topmark sections as the Module 1200 buoy and can easily be fitted with a small self-contained light such as the Carmanah Model 601.  The simple buoy construction is low maintenance, manufactured using rotationally moulded UV stabilised medium density polyethylene (MDPE) making it light and easy to handle and can therefore be maintained using small vessels. The buoy can be deployed/raised using the three lifting eye configuration. The design of the hull/rudder will allow the maintenance crew to lay the buoy on its side when working on deck.

Configurations available are Lateral, Cardinal, Isolated Danger or Special Mark.

  • Available in Lateral, Cardinal, Isolated Danger and Special Mark
  • All polyethylene components are UV stabilised - does not require repainting
  • Single point mooring configuration
  • Wide range of self contained solar lights accepted
  • Extremely low maintenance
  • Careful design attains low drag and superior stability qualities
  • Suitable for radar reflectors.
  • Modular system reduces spares holding

Beach Beaconing

A range of small buoys, 0.4 to 0.8m diameter, designed for beach and protected area marking. The buoys are available as can, cone or spherical shapes and are supplied in rigid plastic, with internal foam. A truncated version is available that will carry a choice of lights or top marks.

Mooring Buoys

The mid-range AMR series of mooring buoys are suitable for most harbour and coastal locations. Rotationally moulded polyethylene hulls are used combined with a galvanised steel central structure, to provide a strong, lightweight buoy capable of supporting substantial loads. The use of polyethylene for the hulls allows the buoy to absorb minor impacts without damage to the buoy or boat hulls.  Floats are available in three sizes and can be used in different permutations to provide the buoyancy required. The larger 1.85m diameter floats form the hull for the AMR2500 while the can shaped or conical 1.24m floats are used for the other models.  The structure provides a SWL of 12T and use a D Link with the option of a T bar on the AMR 2500. For special application such as the MOD, higher SWL structures are available.

ES1700 Spar Buoy

The ES 1700 is a lightweight, low cost, spar buoy, suitable for use in nearshore locations where a good focal plane is required.  The rotationally moulded spar includes a radar reflector, is very  strong but light enough to be handled by small craft without the use of lifting equipment.  Due to its low mass, mooring and sinker weights can be light, making the spars particularly suitable for seasonal or short term deployment.  Topmarks are available for use as Cardinal and special marks, or with plates for use as racing marks etc and can be fitted with light mountings for the Carmanh 601 series lights which will provide a visible range of up to 2 miles, and a typical focal plane of 2m.

  • Available in Cardinal, Special Mark configurations
  • All polyethylene construction, no maintenance
  • Lightweight moorings and sinkers
  • Suitable for 2 mile self contained light
  • Easy to deploy
  • Selection of topmark assemblies available
  • Highly suitable for seasonal or short term use
  • Built in radar reflector
